Smaller is Better When it Comes to Nanoblocks, The Newest Craze in Building Toys
Miniature, Detail-Oriented, Realistic Construction Sets Now Available in Canada
MISSISSAUGA, ON, September 11, 2011 /Canada PR News/ -- You don't have to be a kid to appreciate Nanoblocks - the newest construction toy to hit Canadian store shelves this fall. The extremely small and realistic building sets are so incredible, even adults are getting in on the action.
What sets Nanoblocks apart is their size - not only do most finished projects fit in the palm of a hand, but their micro-sized three-dimensional construction also offers an unprecedented level of detail, realistically replicating world famous landmarks, exotic animals and other popular items.
"These sets combine the precision of model making with the familiarity of brick building, making them an ideal choice for anyone who loves a construction challenge," said Richard Albert, VP of Marketing and Operations at RP Toys, the exclusive North American dealer of Nanoblocks. "The level of detail is so outstanding that each set becomes a true display piece once completed," he added.
Designed for building enthusiasts eight years of age and older, Nanoblocks are enjoying popularity among all age groups with equal interest from both sexes. "This isn't just another building toy for young boys. It's a worldwide phenomenon," said Albert, noting that RP Toys plans to keep excitement mounting by introducing new sets on a quarterly basis.
The first sets offered in Canada include three from the Nanoblock Sites to See series - the Eiffel Tower, the Neuschwanstein castle and the Taj Mahal - and six from the Mini Series - Giraffe, Tree Frog, Koala, Panda, Dog and Pig. Each one contains anywhere from 150 to more than 550 pieces.
Although not sub-atomic in size as their name might suggest, Nanoblocks are billed "the world's smallest building toy" and are currently enjoying tremendous success around the world. First introduced in Japan in 2008, they made their American debut last year, receiving recognition as "Best Constructive Play" from the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) for 2011. Developed in Tokyo, Nanoblocks feature a patented feather design that locks pieces firmly together while allowing for versatility in design at the same time.
AVAILABILITY
Nanoblocks will be available this September at select Canadian specialty toy stores, including Scholar's Choice. Prices range from $10 to $20 depending on the set purchased.
