Honibe Honey Sugar Introduced At National Restaurant Association Show

Island Abbey Foods Ltd. announces Honibe Honey Sugar now available at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. Honey Sugar is the world's first dried granules of honey for sweetening tea and coffee.

CHICAGO, IL, May 26, 2010 /Canada PR News/ -- Island Abbey Foods Ltd., specialty honey manufacturer, today announced the unveiling of their newest line of products, Honibe Honey Sugar, at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. Honibe Honey Sugar is the world's first dried granules of honey that are available in 5 gram packets for use in any table top sweetener set at food service establishments that serve tea and coffee.

The new line of Honey Sugar will be ideal for food service use with individual, 5 gram, sachets naturally fitting into any environment where tea and coffee are sold. Honey Sugar sachets offer a convenient honey alternative to any table top sweetener set. Honibe Honey Sugar sachets offer consumers a healthy choice for sweetening their tea and coffee compared to the typical refined sugar sweeteners that are on the market.

"We are thrilled to launch the world's first Honey Sugar sachets for the foodservice industry as a healthy sweetener that is suitable for anywhere tea and coffee sweeteners are offered," stated John Rowe, President of Island Abbey Foods Ltd. "Consumers today are demanding healthy options for sweetening their tea and coffee. We feel our timing is perfect as honey contains many health properties when compared to refined sugar products that often have no nutritional benefits for the body. Our Honey Sugar is an excellent option as a healthy, no-mess honey sweetener."

The Honibe brand has garnered international attention in recent months for the product the Honey Drop . The Honey Drop was the first product launched under the Honibe brand and is an individual serving (one teaspoon / 5 g.) of 100% pure dried honey without any additives. It is ideal for sweetening tea or coffee. Simply drop into a hot beverage and stir. You have all of the natural honey flavour without the usual honey mess. Most recently, the Honey Drop won two SIAL D'or Awards at the world's largest food tradeshow in Paris, France and will now be one of nine finalists competing for best new food product in the world this fall at the show.
