CHRISTIAN ISLAND, ON, CANADA, March 26, 2010 /Canada PR News/ -- Motivational Speaker, Best-selling Author and former drug addict Joe Roberts uplifted the Beausoleil First Nations Youth with his inspirational "Don't buy the Lie about Getting High" presentation. As part of youth prevention week, the presentation was held on March 17th, 2010 at 1 Omega Street on Christian Island in Ontario, Canada.
This past week Joe Roberts succeeded in educating first nation's young adults on primary drug and alcohol prevention strategies. Within his presentation, Roberts highlighted many key moments in his life from his extensive childhood drug addiction to his successful comeback as President and CEO of Mindware Design Communications, and used this illustration to encourage the youth to use profit from adversity.
His message proved to the audience that anyone anywhere can overcome perceived limitations and achieve their dream. "I just want them to think, 'If he can do it, I can do it,'" Roberts says.
Roberts has also founded the Shoeboogieman Foundation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing teen addiction through education, motivation and inspiration.
