Web Start-Up Noomii Provides Online Life Coaching for Wounded Veterans

Noomii's interactive online coaching system establishes partnership with the Purple Heart Project to support wounded soldiers of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

VANCOUVER, BC, February 15, 2010 /Canada PR News/ -- Web start-up Noomii.com and The Purple Heart Project have announced their partnership in a 6-month pilot project supporting wounded soldiers of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars through Noomii's interactive online coaching system.

The joint venture between Noomii.com and The Purple Heart's certified co-active veteran coaching service will provide physically disabled soldiers returning from war with the necessary life skills to be functioning and productive in their personal and professional lives. The partnership offers web-based one-on-one and group coaching support, holding veterans accountable for the necessary steps forward throughout the 6-month program.

Noomii's online service makes life coaching available to anyone with access to the internet. Noomii's software provides tools and support to coaches and clients, helping them achieve more from their coaching. Each veteran is paired with a professional Co-active Coach, and has the ability to log into their online account and track their progress. All Co-active Coaches with The Purple Heart Project are experienced, certified and understand the skills and tools wounded veterans require to transition back to day-to-day living.

"I have served my country for almost 30 years and The Purple Heart Project allows me to continue to serve," said Jennifer Yount, Director of The Purple Heart Project. "I believe through Co-Active Coaching, a Wounded Warrior will have a non-judgmental and supportive partner in creating his/her future; have a partner to listen, inspire, champion, and dream with; acknowledge who he/she is today and what they want to create from here; and have a partner to take the steps to move forward. I believe this Project will make a positive impact in the lives of the Wounded Warriors we coach."

While the standard of care for U.S. military veterans is a priority, there is still a long road ahead. 1 in 4 homeless Americans are veterans, 30% of returning soldiers suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and 126 veterans commit suicide weekly; startling facts which prompted Noomii's collaboration with The Purple Heart Project.

"When asked to come on board with The Purple Heart Project there was no hesitation. We believe this partnership will make a positive difference in the lives of wounded soldiers. A client-coach relationship helps define where the client is at, where he or she would like to be, provides support along the way and creates accountability for the clients' steps along the road to successful assimilation back into their day-to-day life," says Noomii CEO, Kurt Shuster.

The Purple Heart Project has an established partnership with Pharos Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit, public charity organization to assist Wounded Warriors of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars through Co-Active coaching. For more information, visit The Purple Heart Project.

Noomii is owned by PairCoach Enterprises Inc, a privately-held company with headquarters in Vancouver, Canada. Professional coaches can take advantage of Noomii's Life Coaching Software to manage their clients better and those interested in coaching can find a life coach using Noomii's Life Coach Directory.
